Med's First Party !!

Med's first party in over 10 years was a great success, despite weather that could have been warmer and more inviting.  Over 100 people attended and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere of Son Caliu beach, the wonderful music of 'Guitarras del Mar', the food of 'Delicioso' and each others company.  It was lovely to see and meet the wide range of people who support and volunteer for our small but rapidly growing NGO.


Various members of the press attended and Dr Stoma was interviewed for the radio.  Keep an eye open for next Sunday's Ultima Hora magazine amongst others.

Andrew Spence and Anthony Just of 'Guitarras del Mar' see link  http://spanishguitaristmallorca.blogspot.com/  who choose just the right music at the right time, created a very warm atmosphere and took us well into the evening.

To Esperanza Nadal of Vins Nadal, Binissalem see link http://www.vinsnadal.com/ who kindly supplied a number of cases of their lovely wine Albaflor.


To Bar Bambu Fish who cut their prices in a very generous way so that everyone could drink freely through out the evening and served us drinks with a smile and good humour all night. The ticket price of 12€ adults and 6€ children covered the costs of all drinks and food for the evening.


To Specsavers (Santa Ponsa), Bar Nassau (Portixol) and Rumours Bar (Portals Nous) who handled advanced ticket sales.


And finally to our team of Med volunteers Natalie, Marieke, Will and Robin who worked hard to organise the event and thought they had everything covered only to discover on the night that the labels used as name tags didn't stick and that the tops to the Hawaiian style sun shades that gave the beach an exotic feel had been taken away earlier that day.  Lessons to be learnt for the next event!
