Martha and Mykias have their visas.

Martha and Mykias have their visas now and so do their adult companions.
We are relieved and happy to confirm that their visas have been approved. As you can well imagine the long wait and not knowing when they would arrive has been very distressing.

Fortunately the Spanish Embassy and the consul, Mr. Thovar, did their utmost to produce the visas in just a few days.
The organisation of the flight to Mallorca has not gone smoothly either as Ethiopian Airlines have changed the flight times repeatedly adding to this stressful situation.

Luckily, we do not have to spend the night in Barcelona and will fly direct to Mallorca which is a blessing.
I have organised a list of volunteers which means that Martha and Mykias will never be on their own. I'm very pleased to include 20 year old volunteers on this list. It's great to see young people actively involved in this type of project.

Martha and Mykias will go into the Son Dureta children's wing early on the 6th July. Mykias will be subject to specific examinations pertaining to his case and then they will both undergo their pre-operation tests. Afterwards, their health problems will be treated and if necessary they will have an operation.

Thanks to the generosity of Liz and Paul Galle (members of the Mediterranea charity), Mykias' mother and Martha's teacher will stay in their appartment in the Hotel Terramar which are so near to Son Dureta hospital that the two of them can just walk there.

When Martha and Mykias come out of hospital they will all stay in the Foster family's house. The Fosters, have kindly offered their "granny" flat attached to their home in order that our four friends may be together during the recovery period which does not require hospitalization.

All of Martha and Mykias' school, their classmates and all of their village are celebrating the fact that this visit has been made possible
thanks to the kind-hearted members of the Mediterranea charity in Spain. A country only previously known to them for their magnificent football teams.

When Mykias and Martha return home, the whole village will learn all about the island of Mallorca and the wonderful people who reside here.
